Worldwide dangerous shark attacks have increased, with 90 occurring in 2011  the highest since the year 2000, when sharks attacked 80 people. Shark-related fatalities for last year were also above average, with six deaths reported.
The news might have been even worse in shark-popular spots like Florida.

Different parts of the world have experienced many animal attacks and with the increasing population and infringement of the natural animal habitat, sharks are not spared and as a result many shark attacks are reported while some dangerous shark attacks still go unreported. With the increase of transport and communication, lifeguards and beach patrols have been able to save lives and report the deadly attacks which would not have been accounted for.

Causes of many shark attacks.

The existing number of sharks in many parts and the overall shark population has increased in places like Florida, California and Hawaii. Many tourists have been flocking these beautiful beaches which are also shark infested waters. With different sharks attacking during the day and other sharks attacking during the night, lone swimmers have always been victims of shark attacks while waders and surfers have also been attacks by sharks whether provoked shark attacks or unprovoked shark attacks.  While those who cannot swim, they end up drowning and become easy pray or victims of Shark Attack. Divers and people who find pleasure while on the surface of these treacherous waters end up being attacked by sharks depending on the time of day or night.

Florida had its lowest total since 2004, which was 12,” said ichthyologist George Burgess in a press release.
“Maybe it’s a reflection of the downturn in the economy and the number of tourists coming to Florida, or the amount of money native Floridians can spend taking holidays and going to the beach," added Burgess, who is director of the file housed at the Florida Museum of Natural History on the UF campus.

Although Florida's number of shark attacks declined in 2010, the state still led the U.S., with 13 reported attacks. Twenty-three other attacks happened in these other states:
North Carolina: 5
California: 4
Hawaii: 4
South Carolina: 4
Georgia: 1
Maine: 1
Oregon: 1
Texas: 1
Virginia: 1
Washington: 1
Outside of the U.S., the following countries also experienced shark attacks in 2010:
Australia: 14
South Africa: 8
Vietnam: 6
Egypt: 6

Egypt is noteworthy because five of its six attacks, which included one fatality, all happened during early December and were attributed to just two sharks. Its not always  the number of deadly white sharks in the area which can trigger many shark attacks but the number of people on the beach which is shark infested. Despite the fact that not all that many sharks are provoked to attacks but sometimes you never know what these deadly sharks can be up to while  many victims are out there just waiting to become easy shark attack prey. The attacks occurred within a 5-day period.
“This was a situation that was hugely unusual by shark-attack standards,” said Burgess, who has researched sharks at the museum for more than 35 years. “It was probably the most unusual shark incident of my career.”

He thinks a combination of natural and human factors contributed to the attacks in the Red Sea. These include higher than normal water temperatures caused by an unusually hot summer, international livestock traders dumping sheep carcasses into the water, and divers feeding reef fishes and sharks.
“The reality is, going into the sea is a wilderness experience,” he said. “You’re visiting a foreign environment -- it’s not a situation where you’re guaranteed success.”

With that in mind, it might not be such a good time to swim off the coast of Florida, where 100,000 sharks were recently spotted swimming close to shore. Helicopter pilot Steve Irwin, who saw the sharks, believes they were spinner sharks, which received that name because of their unusual method of feeding. They swim rapidly through schools, spinning along the axis of their bodies and sometimes leaping out of the water.

May 2, 2008 - Chino, CA. Who would think that not all that well know dangerous animals can inflict injury and take a life but many animals when they find the right time and the right prey at their habitat they just use their animal instincts and attack whoever it may be. Coyote attacks toddler in Chino Hills park. A nanny pulled a two-year-old girl from the jaws of a coyote when the animal attacked the toddler and tried to carry her away in its mouth according to the L A Times. Would such incidents or attack could have been avoided. Well some of these attacks happen in a split of a second without any prompt action to save such an attack.

Jun 23 2008: Chicago - Birds of different sizes can attack people who are either near their breeding grounds or feeding grounds. When birds are nesting, they always try to defend their habitat and while most birds who have found themselves nesting in many urban areas will always attack as was this case. Fiesty Male Blackbirds Attacking Humans. A Chicago businesswoman was on her cell phone, walking along West Grand Avenue near Rockwell Street on Wednesday, when a male balckbird—dubbed "Hitchcock" by area workers—made its move. Bicyclists, pedestrians are reporting attacks

June 25 2008: Pinos Altos, NM Many people are aware where most of the dangerous animals are. if its in the parks or just in the wilderness. Warning signs are always there to warn people but to some extend, people neglect animal attacks sighs and warning and as a results, many unwanted or foreseen attacks could be avoided. Its the education, information and communication of such animal attacks which can bring about awareness of these dangerous animals  -  Mountain Lion Kills, Eats Man. After a warning from the victim's brother, a search party has located the body of Robert Nawojski, 55, the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish said. Evidence indicated that Nawojski had been attacked and killed by a mountain lion at a spot close to his home
4 days after Haley, August 22, 2005 Zimbabwe, Africa: Many lion attacks while in the wilderness try to protect any intruders of their territory. while people who come close to these animals with an intention of taking a good picture without proper protection from the themselves or the people accompanying the person in the animal areas will always be prone to the king of the jungles paws and sharp teeth.  A 50 year old Japanese diplomat was visiting a 49 acres Lion and Cheetah wildlife park when she was attacked and killed by a hungry lion.

August 18, 2005 MOUND VALLEY, Kansas. (AP) - Despite the fact that not all that many animal owners and trainers are always attacked by dangerous animals, people who are not accustomed to these animals even if its a family animal, you find that dogs if not properly trained will chase even some of the family members if they are not that much acquitted with. Getting too close to these animals will always trigger the animal insticst to attack if they suspect danger too.  A Siberian tiger attacked and killed a teenage girl (Haley Hildebrand) who was posing for photos at a family-run animal facility called Lost Creek Animal Sanctuary.

August 15, 2005 Clackamas, OR: Animal attacks are always unpredictable, they take place in the forest, in the houses, farms and even in the animal sanctuaries ehre there is all the protection. But of one dangerous animal goes lose, there is always a chance of someone who will always try to provoke the wild and an attack is always imminent.  Sheriff's deputies shot and killed a pet lynx after it pounced on a six-year-old girl and began clawing her head. Deputies said the owner reported the pet missing Friday to a Clackamas veterinary clinic, which contacted the sheriff's office. Attempts to trap the animal had failed.

August 6, 2005 MAYFIELD, N.Y.: Animals love people but when people don't love animal habits, the situation always becomes different. People will go to very long procedures procuring endangered animals with the sheer animal love. But for the love of the animals and all the animal rights which come first, the law should prevail and the safety of the animals too.  A baby Siberian tiger was confiscated by NY DEC from Steve Salton. The cub was purchased in OH for $1000.00 and declawed and spayed but the owner was in violation of NY license laws and the state is waiting for the cub to heal before placing her in a sanctuary.

August 1, 2005 Brit Spaugh Zoo, KS: People do understand that keeping animals comes with a great responsibilities fortheir own lives and for the sake of the lives of others. Animal protection if not adhered to can cause deadly and many animal attacks do take place if care is not taken. A sheer negligence of duty or being overwhelmed by work can cause a very serious probplem as was in this case.Bart the cougar walked through an open door on his cage in the North American section of the zoo and came face to face with a family.

July 23, 2005 Africa: The owner of the Addo Crocodile and Lion Ranch, Lourens van Straaten died after being mauled by a lion that he had bottle raised. Van Straaten, a taxidermist by trade, was given a suspended fine in 1994 for trading in rhino horn. He was also at the centre of controversy in 2004 when allegations were made about the condition of his lions and whether he had the necessary "performing animal" permits for the public handling of lion cubs. Van Straaten is not the first Eastern Cape lion breeder to fall victim to his charges. In 1996, Shumba Safaris' owner, JP Kleinhans, was mauled to death by one of his lions at his lodge near Patensie. Animals will remain animals. they are dangerous predators and animals like lions can eat any one at anytime regardless of what bond or connection you might have had with it. Just remember its a jungle out there.

July 21, 2005 Pelican Rapids, MN: Despite many animal lovers keeping beautiful animals, many other animal rights groups will go to extra lenghts to find out if the animals are given the right protection, animal food and a good animal habitat. For some people all these animal requirement might come at a cost as there would be no point of keeping an animal without having any financial benefits from it. I guess this is what a white elephant scenerio would be. Dr. Roy Alexander Cordy is in violation of his order to remove all of the exotic animals from his farm and the tiger will be confiscated and killed if he doesn't find a place for the cat. Cordy, 43, pleaded guilty last year to depriving an animal on his farm of necessary food, water and shelter.

"I was transferring Zeb, who I bottle-fed when he was a baby, to my traveling van to go to an educational program for some Cub Scouts in Camden . Suddenly Zeb leaped up and took my arm in his mouth. He also bit me on the side, narrowly missing my kidney. As I fought him off, he went for my foot, shredding the brand new Nike tennis shoe I was wearing. I finally escaped by climbing on top of the cage."

June 14, 2005 Conway, AR: Where do we need to cross the line and what are the yard sticks for knowing that the animal rights and animal groups have to step in. Well there is always a question of animal ethics which needs to be addressed as animals too have feelings. They need love and animals also need proper homes and abundance of their animal social life as well. An unemployed sheet metal worker, facing an order to appear in court and a possible fine, says he'll go to jail before he gives up his aging pet cougar because of his violations of the exotic pet regulations.

June 2, 2005 Princeton: “I could feel the bones cracking and the warm blood in my eye,” Blakney recalled. “After some time, I decided he finally has me and I should play dead before I pass out. He remembers that the right side of his lower jaw was in about 17 pieces and that a doctor told him it wouldn't work to try putting them back together. So instead, surgeons made a metal jaw. Blakney quickly pointed out that he didn't feel the attack was the mountain lion's fault. “He was just playing out his instinct and was a very good lion through all my years with him,” "I raised him on a bottle from the age of six weeks said Blakney. He had the lion killed so that he didn't have to have rabies shots and had the mate killed as well so that she wouldn't hurt anyone, despite the fact that she was not involved. He sold their pelts to his neighbor. More...

After the attack, Anthony Barone chained up the lynx, until it strangled to death. Barone was in the process of buying two black leopards, describes himself as a "big-cat trainer, animal lover". June 1, 2005 Salisbury, NC
:Animals attack with their own reasons. Some are born wild while some just need to feel how it is to bite or attack what goes around. But when larger animals bite, caution should be taken while handling such dangerous animals or cats so as to minimize casualties. Rowan County Park told 6NEWS a veteran employee was feeding the animals when he was bit on the left leg by one of the park's new bobcats. The worker was treated and released from the hospital.

May 28, 2005 Underwood, MN. People need to be aware that animal lovers can keep any kind of pets they want to own, whether its as a big as an African elephant or the deadliest Indian cobra. So long as there is always care and proper handling of these dangerous animals you find that there is always something missing and something will always happen as accidents are always there as far as animal attacks are concerned. Underwood woman must get rid of 9 tigers and lion after three people were bitten by cats at her animal farm called Arcangel Wildlife. April 30, 2005 Minneapolis, MN . When it comes to animal attacks, just like any dangerous dog attack people always wonder who is on the wrong. I s it the dog owner or is it the person who was attacked. All these questions are related to the attacks which could have been prevented or prior warning was not being take very serious. Tiger attack victim remains in hospital after being attacked by the animals, whose owner, Grant Oly, was in jail on charges he failed to register them. In 2003, a tiger at the site was euthanized after it bit a 31-year-old pregnant woman.

April 25, 2005 Lacey, WA When animals go missing, its always a recipe for disaster. the animal might be attacked by other animals while the same animal might attack other animals too. April 23, 2005 Coon Rapids, MN With many endangered animal species roaming near human habitat, these small cats can cause very dangerous injuries to people and other small animals too.
