Daboia russelii, common name Russells viper, is one of the big fours of India. The snake which claims the largest human mortality rate due to snake bite in South Asia boast of a high quantity of hemotoxic venom which causes internal heamorrhages due to rupturing of blood vessels, tissue damage and finally death.
