Toads in Amplexus and Tree Frog

Common toads, Bufo melanostictus, nowadays changed to Duttaphrynus melanostictus mating after a prolonged rain in Chennai. The stagnated water drainage channels forms an ideal breeding grounds for them as well as for other frogs. These amphibians makes their typical (nevertheless Specific) sounds to attract the opposite sex for mating. But still, they randomly try to grasp any neighbouring/nearby frogs or toads, like a hit and trail method, until they get an individual of same

species.

A Common Indian Tree Frog (Polypedates maculatus) found in campus. It makes a series of low pitch sound like a faraway filmi AK-47 gun shots.
